Ribbon cutting for the Johnson County Education Foundation with the Cleburne Chamber of Commerce (March 2014)

Johnson County Education Foundation was founded in 2007 with the purpose of setting aside resources from the Barnett Shale gas play in order to benefit the education of citizens in the Johnson County area at our local institutions of higher education.  As this valuable resource is being depleted, it is important for us to be good stewards of that resource to benefit the future leaders of Johnson County.

With the peak of the gas industry behind us in Johnson County, the emphasis has now become those who would like to make a significant investment in the lives of the young people in our county.  Many of them do not have the opportunity or resources to benefit from higher education without help.  This foundation is intended to be a permanent endowment.  Earnings from the money/royalty contributions are distributed for higher education purposes.  All contributions are tax deductible and the foundation is a 501 (c) 3 organization.  Contributions can be in the form of donating royalty interests and/or cash.
